Well-run family business that sticks to core values of: service, quality products, timeliness, fair pricing, and honesty. Before hurricane Ian I was shopping for a new pool heat pump. Amy and Alex (husband and wife) suggested Built Right for pool heat pumps manufactured right here in Punta Gorda. I did some further research and found stellar reviews on this product. I also asked around and could not find one neighbor/acquaintance that had a bad experience with this brand. Just the contrary, they had nothing but good things to say about Built Right for pool heat pumps . Hence, I decided to move forward with the purchase as their price was more than fair compared to other vendors in our community. I told Amy that I would like to have some of my plumbing reworked as I didn't feel the existing plumbing work was sufficient (too many bends and 90° angles reduce efficiency). She said she would have Alex come out to take a look at and give me a price for the re-plum job. Alex promptly came out to my house to look at the existing plumbing from my old heat pump before installing. His price was more than fair compared to others. Amy scheduled me for Thursday, September 29 for the heat pump install. Of course, those of you that live in this area know that that was the day after hurricane Ian and as a result, I had canceled the job on Tuesday before Ian hit. After Ian hit, the storm shredded apart my existing heat pump and the plumbing. I told Amy it was probably going to be more labor to fix the plumbing then originally estimated. She offered to send Alex out to give me an updated estimate. Because I live near the Lee County border, and their business is in Port Charlotte, I suggested that I send photos of the damage Ian had caused rather than burn Alex's time unnecessarily. Amy quickly sent me an updated proposal that was $200 more for the additional damage. The next day, a crew came out to remove PVC piping as well as shredded and damaged heat pump. Alex arrived about an hour later. He and his helper Eric spent probably 2+ hours reinstalling the plumbing and the new heat pump. While Alex was installing the heat pump, he noticed that the end of my driveway there was small bits of debris from the old heat pump. It wasn't a big deal to me but Alex asked if I had a broom and dust pan so he could finish cleaning up some of the small debris shavings at the end of the driveway. I told him it was not necessary but he insisted. Talk about pride in workmanship and going the extra mile... To top it off, Alex told me that instead of $200 additional as originally quoted from the pictures, he was only gonna charge me $100 extra for the extra labor needed to repair PVC piping that was damaged by hurricane Ian. It is so rare to find honest, dependable gems like Alex and Amy. I would not hesitate to do business with them. You will be very happy! Greg and Donna
All I can say is WOW. These guys are great. I woke up to a broken pool heater and they came out the same day and repaired my heater quickly at a very fair rate. I will certainly use them again.
Highly recommend Alex's! They went above and beyond to get our pool heater fixed! Very pleasant to work with!
